Of course you can... it's Universal My name is _______ not Rockefeller Plane fare is not Universal. Updated: That hotel charges resort fees. I've read varying numbers so I am going to call just to find out. One website says a $15 per day microwave fee??! Free wifi in public areas otherwise room fees are $20 a night for Internet. $20.25 resort fee per night. Apparently from the online Floridan articles I read, it's becoming more common. Found this website to see if where you want to stay has them, although the Florida Hotel is currently not listed. Hotels with Resort Fees in OrlandoNo wonder the price was so good. Anger and sadness. <-- Look VĂ©ro Resort Fees, Service Fees, Facility Fees, Amenities Fee- it goes under so many names but the bullshite's still the same lol When I worked at the Florida Mall and I didn't have any bills, I always joked that I'd stay at the Florida Mall hotel for a night and go to work just to say I did since it's attached to the mall itself. It never happened but it's funny to think about. I think there's a regulation that may be happening in the future. There were a couple articles I'd read that mentioned more people are complaining and I think suing over them and how dishonest the pricing is with hotels. If I recall, the regulation would basically just require hotels to be more upfront with the fees when providing prices rather than doing away with them. That way at least, potential guests aren't mislead about the actual price of their stay before thinking about booking.

That ^^ was the complaint I read from most though, you booked and ickity-ackity-ook, there are prior unforseen charges showing up. It looked to be such a nice place with terrific reviews but was adding on too much for a few days' stay.

Yea, with what you're paying at a hotel like that, while it is very nice at that hotel, you could stay at say either of the 3 lesser Rosens on I Drive, the Drury that's right nextdoor or even there's one called Avanti that are all within the area. Avanti isn't quite as showy as some of the other hotels but you get a good bang for your buck there and the other places.

If anyone is looking for a last minute accomodation, the place we've stayed at in the past has had a last minute cancellation for March 11-17 and she's offering a discounted price. It's the Oakwater 3 bdrm condo. Florida Vacation Homes on FB or www.rentinghomesinflorida.com .

Also, curious as to the newly refurbished/takeover of Nickelodeon Suites by Holiday Inn...mousesavers.com has a decent deal on the property but friends stayed when it was Nickelodeon a few yeats back and found it dirty. Anyone been there lately?? My answer to that would just be that it was a Holiday Inn before it was Nickelodeon and it's a Holiday Inn now. While I won't be there for the foreseeable future, my job's taken me out to that hotel in the past and given what I know about hotels: You can only dress the pig so much and a pig is always just a pig. They were doing some renovations to the rooms the last time I was there just before the takeover, so there's that but it's not like it's a whole new hotel. TL;DR: I wouldn't stay there as there's plenty of other options, even within the Holiday Inn family, to choose.

Rosen Inn on International--anyone? Gotta love Trip Advisor (not) so I ask with people whose opinions I trust (here). Trip Advisor: "5 stars! Was so nice, clean, staff was so friendly and helpful! Great amenities! Will stay again!" Five reviews down: "Two stars, at best. Room needs updating, was not quite clean. Staff was not friendly. Will not return." One woman from England complained and said she wouldn't go back because of the hotel and well, Orlando wasn't for them anyway. I thought, well you are a human oddity because the few I know from Jolly Old can't wait to go back. Personal choice. . . Eh, okay. Now that's not verbatim but pretty darned close, if you've read TA reviews. I went on to look for the Jacksonville Zoo and the top review, from someone in a town not 20 miles from me, was raving. Literally 3 posts down, a scathing review not to waste your time. DH is getting a deal through work, nothing on site is available that's affordable for us; we don't need nor do we want the king suite or need the pool view. Standards are out for June and July. Between a pre-middle school test, DH getting extra time off, someone to care for my pup and limited places open, I'm starting to slightly panic with this one.

Merry McSparkles Grimes I stayed at one of the Rosen Inns the first time I went to Orlando and it was OK - that was a long time ago tho. I think ShelleyT might stay there?

Rosen takes a ton of pride with his hotels. From what I hear, the staff is generally good and such but I have heard that for your money, while Rosen International is still great and prime location, the smaller, original Rosen has better rooms. From the times the job takes me there, I can say that the hall you walk down to get to your rooms from the lobby of the original, smaller Rosen sorta reminds me of the blood hall from The Shining. To that note, the Rosen Shingle also reminds me of the Overlook. Intriguing to me but I'm not everyone. I do enjoy Rosen Point Orlando the best overall but if you do end up at Rosen International, I don't believe you'll be disappointed. Does your husband get anything with the Drury? I hear good things about them and they're right there next to UO.

Future Boy Thanks for your reply. I know there are 5? or so in Orlando, I am not sure which one the smaller, original Rosen is? I think the Rosen International was the one we stayed at before, 7600 International. It was alright but I don't really care to stay there again, needs updating, was a bit noisy. Is the one on 6327 Int'l the one you mean? The Point Orlando looks pretty nice. We always have a rental so not concerned about driving since that one is further away. Also I looked into Avanti per your prior suggestions, looks pretty decent. Might be an option, too. I'm okay with Overlook looks or hallways--I'd be snapping pics of that for certain. We went to dinner at a place that had a hallway like that a few years ago for our anniversary. Old place in the Poconos. Was waiting for the twins to round the corner. I had a photo posted here I think, maybe it was the old site, can't find it. Sadly he doesn't get anythang with Drury, although it looks nice and I know Amy recommends it. Between the breakfast and the lunch buffet, I think that'd make it worth it alone. AA gives discounts for hotels and car rentals so while we still check with Uni and my third party sites, he usually goes through work.

Yea, the 6327 is the original one. If noise plays a factor, I'd probably still skip it and opt for the Point Orlando.
I forgot I suggested Avanti! I'd keep them as a suggestion. They're a value hotel but they strive to be more and the buck banging is a good one. Not to mention, the location is great since you have so much within walking distance from you. I know breakfast isn't typically included with them(neither is computer usage-heads up!) and you have the rental, but you're right across the street from Denny's and down the road from ->Hash House a Go-Go<- for breakfast and you're practically surrounded by everythang else you'll need during your stay.
Another one I'd throw in is Homewood Suites. They have excellent reviews at almost all times , so if DH gets a deal with them, go for it.

Merry McSparkles Grimes we have stayed at the Rosen closest to universal (6327) 8 times, great for being close to universal, taxi usually around $10 including tip or 15min walk. The rooms been updated, basic bed/table/chair/fridge. We ask for a room in the annex building, never had any issues & friendly staff. Stayed at pointe on our 1st time in Deloris a back in 2003, does look like it's been updated since but was ok.

Thanks very much Future Boy and ShelleyT ! Kindly appreciated. DH is getting a good deal so maybe we will go with that, just have to hope dates are open now. Good to know ShelleyT that they have a fridge, too. Will request the annex/back if possible. Future Boy Oof that warm spinach salad there sounds great, kid is all over the omelets, too. I will mention Homewood to the Muggle-Alexandrian when he gets in. Thank you both very much!
