The Avanti looks a nice updated and modern hotel Future Boy was a sad sight earlier last year when it got struck by lightning. I did consider staying there as was reasonably priced with modern looking rooms. Yea, it took out a whole tower! I mean, they've recovered from what I understand but that was all over the news and the unfortunate thing is, there's nothing you can do. I know they reacted quickly and if I understand, were able to move most of their guests to other places but there was no way for anyone to know or avoid it. I had a buddy of mine who came into town for HHN who stayed there for the night so he had a bed to sleep in. He was pretty happy with it. The rooms are relatively modern and from what I understand, the pool and pool bar are a couple selling points, though I've never seen them.

Future Boy I've only seen photos in the brochure and sites online. It looks nice, I was tempted.

One of my school friends was staying at the Avanti when it was struck by lightning last year. She elected to stay in the hotel rather than move. Luckily nothing if hers was damaged.
She absolutely raves about it and is saving to go back

Looks pretty cool, almost like the PH towers next to Planet Hollywood at Vegas. PH hotel in Vegas is good but will always e Aladdin (taps are genie lamps etc) Least with this they can put a proper Planet Hollywood stamp on it.

7 Yes, we had 3 nights at Drury. We have decided it's our go-to hotel in Orlando. Super nice, clean, great breakfast buffet. We didn't take advantage of the free drinks or the 5:30 snacks that they offer though. I honestly think the room is just as nice as the Hard Rock, you just don't get the onsite amenities. Highly recommend it. Plus minutes from Universal.

Drury looks great Amy, I know you told me it was your go-to spot from now on. Free popcorn, M will be a shoo-in! Free breakfast is a huge plus for us and like you said, it's so close to Uni and the shops where you might need thangs. Free fridge, too, that seems to be a rarity in hotels anymore.

Amy Very interested in this Drury, now, Amy. How would you say it stacks up to Hard Rock, price-wise?

Obviously not Amy but I looked last night--I didn't compare but from what I have seen prior for HR, it has to be 1/3 if not 1/2. It looks really good to me and those perks are great. I mentioned it to DH, who was tired in wallet and body and he just said we'll add it to the list for new ones to look at for next time.

I believe that the Drury is a partner hotel Merry McSparkles Grimes, so if you book through Universal, you would get EPA (if that is important to you). Isn't that correct Amy???
