Scrabbled make sure have all details in your booking, flight number. You will get a text message with car location and car you are getting. It is so quick and easy. I was reading up on it today; it seemed too good to be true as I've always found renting to be such a hassle. Good to know you've had good experiences. Scrabbled If you made it off the L.I.E. or have any experience with New Yorkers or New Jersey drivers on the upper east counties, you'll be fine. Use the GPS or Siri for your car and you will be just fine.

I honestly don't mind driving in America, just get used to people cutting in front far more and far closer than in the UK.

I've never driven in the States and just have to say, the thought of it terrifies me. Saying that I would love to get behind the wheel of a big red mustang and floor it!! I just haven't got the guts to do it!! EDIT: D'oh ! Wasn't paying attention!! Posted in the wrong thread. Am a total eejit!!  |

I've narrowed down my new car choices to two - I have a sensible option and a frivolous option, but since we've discovered Ford have released the Mustang in the UK, Marty has been badgering me to get one! |

I've narrowed down my new car choices to two - I have a sensible option and a frivolous option, but since we've discovered Ford have released the Mustang in the UK, Marty has been badgering me to get one! I've not been allowed to drive since my 'leg thing' started last August. My wife is having to drive this summer when we go over, I keep trying to tell her it's not as bad as the Kingston bridge area of Glasgow ... she doesn't believe me! Lol

We always rent from Dollar. Cheap, fast, in MCO, and in 8 trips of using them never a problem!

We have used Alamo, Dollar and Budget. No complaints! Got a free upgrade once when they were out of the range we booked.
A tip we got, when we went to the US for the first time, was to buy a GPS. It was actually cheaper than renting one. Even the salesman at BestBuy was amazed when we told him...

I just used Hertz again, used them previous trips as with a discount code are normally cheapest. I do like the gold membership meaning I can go straight to the garage, and jump in the car. Get a text of what car you are getting, its location and if not happy can reply and change the car. Saves so much time at the rental desk. Hertz Gold Alamo Insiders Avis Wizard Offer similar benefits. We have used Alamo, Dollar and Budget. No complaints! Got a free upgrade once when they were out of the range we booked.
