A few more critters! ForbesFrom construction updates it's easy to see that there will be both indoor and outdoor aspects to this ride, suggesting that both Visual and Practical effects (immersive screen technology and animatronic models) will combine to make the ride deserving of the term 'storycoaster'. From Fluffy the three-headed dog, mythical Centaurs and the deadly plant Devil's Snare, all seen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, to Cornish Pixies seen in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Universal Orlando has gone all-out in ensuring the ride will delight fans and craft an adventure not just based on but adding to J.K. Rowling's stories and the world of ride technology. 1,200 live trees will populate the tracks, and the ride will use new technology to immerse riders in the story even more, allowing them to ride an actual motorbike and sidecar around the fast-paced coaster.

For anyone interested saw this on Youtube .... I have been following this construction on Midway Mahem and it looks like it will be a fun ride....can't wait to experience the drop track. I am not sure about those seats though, especially the motorbike one...my concern is how comfortable is that one going to be. I can't seem to get a good look at it during testing so if anyone has any images of the ride vehicle that I can stare at, please post it.

Theme Park InsiderAnd now it will be home to more than 1,200 trees hiding a new "family thrill story coaster," the "world's first dual drop free fall coaster," as Hinds said, with a 50 mph top speed, a 16-foot free fall drop, a backward drop, and a record seven launches. Even though Universal is promoting this as a dual drop coaster, riders will experience only one free fall moment on the ride. Think of this like Disney's Haunted Mansion stretch rooms. They have two, but you only go through one. The other is there to double the ride's capacity. Each train holds 14 riders on this 3-minute, 25-second ride. But like on Dragon Challenge, you will need to make a choice before you board: Will you ride on the motorbike or in the side car? "You think that the side car is a more safe experience, but it is thrilling," Blumenstein said. "But on the motorbike, you are more exposed, sitting up higher. It's a different experience from each seat and from where you sit on the train. I would say that the front end of the train is much more thrilling. The back end is also thrilling, but you get more show in the back." "Your viewshed off to the right on the motorbike is much broader, but we designed the whole show around the side car so that the guests there would not be shortchanged." Someone in the comments said that it mentions on Universal's app that EPA will not happen for this ride until August. www.youtube.com/channel/UCwdVZxsbxB5KsR41nxIufQA
I can't tell the way the seats are set up, mostly the bike part, if there is enough support for your back, would you have to push your back into the seat or will it be closer for a more secure fit. That'd be awkward sitting up higher without support at those speeds and heights. 1:58--he's nearly out of breath trying to get the ride name in and finish the sentence. Me2Old4This2 It's not great but at 2:01 you can get a better look, you can see there's a Mummy-type lap bar for the bike. There are going to be some screams coming from people sitting on that bike when they hit the height and go backwards. We are so psyched for this!

I still think this ride will be too much for me with 50 mph & free fall drops. I will watch some POV videos before I decide for certain.

The question The Husband needs answered-- Does it go upside down?
I'm in, regardless of the answer. He's not so easily convinced.

I'll post something if I see tests with peeps in the seats. The question The Husband needs answered-- Does it go upside down? Not that I know of--backwards and a drop and several launches but no upside down that I've heard.

Actually didn't notice that the picture for this video has the best view of the seats I've seen yet. It looks like the seat has sides and with the lap bar you will be pretty secure, but still out in the open....I wonder if the handlebars come forward with the lap bar for something to hold on to or do you have to lean forward to hold them...I don't think I like that idea. I will need something to hold other than the lap bar on that seat.

Merry McSparkles Grimes LOL...Don't be so hard on yourself, I didn't notice it either until yesterday. Véro You will probably be able to ride in October, especially if staying on site with EPA...at least that's what I have experienced with Gringott when they first opened. I am very excited for this ride as well
