Apparently a couple days ago the Monorail Blue had a piece fall off in its route to/from EPCOT. A guest who saw it even took a picture with it, which is sorta funny, especially considering it looks like a piece of wood/particle board with a mini-motor on it. What isn't too funny is that it ended up breaking down as a result and started smoking and sparking while guests were inside. Admittedly, it's sounds a bit more dramatic than it was. The guests were safe and sound; they were just hot, possibly cranky and disappointed/caught off-guard by the event. On one hand: With how many issues they're known to have with the monorail and how old you realize it is when you do the research, you'd think Disney would have replaced the system so these things would stop happening. On the other hand: To replace the monorail system as a whole would most likely cost a fortune. This is just an assumption of course, but with the new technology out there and it being ahead of its time by nature Disney would most likely end up spending way more money than they would want to. If anyone wants to read up on it and watch some guest Tweeting accounts, feel free to click.

I had heard about it but forgot to look up any news stories. Thanks for posting Future Boy. I'd be most annoyed by time stuck on that, especially heading into the parks.

If I were headed INTO the park, I'd be annoyed. If I were LEAVING the park, I'd be less annoyed. Unless I was en route to HHN. Then I'd be SUPER annoyed.
