It's absolutely free all you need to do is get through 12 of the sample cups and get a Club Cool Cast Member to monitor your progress and keep count.

So official word update via me asking a CM after I just renewed my DAP: Beverly Challenge is no longer a thing. Apparently it got too out of hand for them where teens were getting in with the "(insert name here) Challenge" trend and including this into it, which resulted in (for lack of a better term) alot of vomiting. This coupled with the fact that the word I got originally from that article was actually misinformed, as the number was actually only 4, basically made it so Disney said "Enough" and stopped the whole thing.
You can still get a free Icee for special occasions though such as "Anniversaries" and "Birthdays" via those handy pins.
They are doing something new though where they ask you to "describe Beverly in one word". I had a resulting lengthy and entertaining conversation that led into me finding out about the Challenge's discontinuation with the surveying CM.
