Hello all!
I am taking Hannah to Disney this summer. Most likely. Nothing definite yet, altho I did book a breakfast at Be Our Guest. I don't really care about the food, I just want to see the inside... so breakfast is fine. I've also been given the advice of staying at Art of Animation. It looks super cute! So I'll most likely be getting the 4 day Florida resident tickets and going right after the blackout dates end in mid August. Park Hopper option! I don't know squat about the parks other than MK. I've been there twice but by no means have I done everything. What fast passes should I book? What restaurants should I absolutely not miss? What rides or experiences do I need to do? We both love fast and crazy rides. We've ridden 7DMT and Space Mtn and like them both. Also like Pooh! So yeah, anything but that horrid, Satan's-favorite-needs-to-be-filled-in-with-cement, It's a Small World! Blech! I wanna do Star Wars, but have no idea what or where or how! HELP?!

Pre order your breakfast at Be Our Guest, saves a huge line waiting to order food. You'll pick up your "tracking" rose, pay and go find a seat. Seen the line this Feb on a quiet day and wouldn't like to have wasted my day in that. if staying on Disney property can make FP+ reservations from 60 days, if off site 30 days. Get to MK early on day having breakfast, arrive for opening and see the Disney characters arrive on the train 5mins before opening. "Rope drop" The rides that get busiest are Peter Pan, Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs. Also the meet and greets. If you book three FP+ for early, you can keep going to the kiosks and booking a further FP once used all three. (Only allowed one at a time after original three) Animal Kingdom - Safari, Everest, new night time show. Safari first thing. Epcot - Test Track, fireworks, that's about it Hollywood Studios - Not a great deal left, the one to ask about Star Wars would be the one and only DHPLoverNot a huge knowledge on Disney, but will try and help where I can.

Right! Now you're in my wheelhouse.
Magic Kingdom - This park doesn't currently have tiered Fastpasses so you can have what you like. Personally I would book a FP for The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain for lunch time. When you arrive go to Peter Pan while the line is short and then head over to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain which will also be quiet at that time. As for the other FP well whatever you fancy. If you want to meet a character do that with the Frozen babes usually going fast.
Epcot - Has a tiered FP system. Assuming it's gone back to its original format before Sorin' closed for its update you want to go straight over to the Test Track and get in the standby line. Then have FP for Sorin' and Mission Space and then whatever. I would NEVER stand in the Sorin' standby line but if you do and get a Test Track FP you have to do it first thing. The tiered system means you can't get a FP for both Sorin' and Test Track
Animal Kingdom - Not a tiered system. Go straight to the safari. Then book a FP for the safari a little later as the animals move around and you never know what you'll see each time. Get a FP for the Rapids and Expidition Everest. You can add one for Dinosaur afterwards. The Finding Nemo, Festival of the Lion King and Its Tought to Be a Bug shows are also good.
MGM or Hollywood whatever - Back to a tiered system. Personally I would go straight on Rock n Rollercoaster and then head over to Star Wars and do that as many times as you can. They use different combinations of videos so you may get a different story each time. At the moment because of The Force Awakens you get the same middle section every time but that is changing again soon. Then get a FP for Toy Story and one for The Tower of Terror. You can't get one for Rock n Roller and Toy Story because of the tiered system so you need to do one first.
Thankfully with the recent changes you can make additional FP selections on the app on your phone. It's quick and really really easy. The best part is the moment you've scanned your Magic Band or card at the FP scanner and joined the queue you can instantly book your next FP while you wait in the line, you don't need to wait for the FP time window to close. This is an awesome addition. I take screenshots on my FP selections so I know what time to book the following year if they'll be of any use.

Ooooh yes, the preordering breakfast thing! I see that in my confirmation email. July 18th I can do that. I should set a reminder on my phone. So if I want to be there that day at rope drop, what time do I leave the hotel? Is there a bus? I'm so clueless. I should look at their website for Art of Animation and see what it says.

The buses are supposed to leave every 20 minutes but they can be very hit and miss and I've no idea what time to expect them. I would suggest getting there very early for rope drop at the Magic Kingdom because the area between the train station and the Magic Band readers is actually quite small and not that many can fit in. If there's no room you'll have to wait the other side although you can still see. From me experience because it tends to fill up they usually open the park early, I've been allowed in and up Main Street as early as 8:45.

Never been to Disney...but my friend stayed in the AofA resort, Little Mermaid section 2 or 3 years ago over Christmas/New Year's. Her kids were 2 and 6 i think. She found the Mermaid section to be very far from the Main building with the food and drinks and far from the buses, etc. but that may have been her feelings where she was dragging kids with her just to grab a refill, it was crazy busy, and she got caught in rain a couple times going to the main bldg. Nicely decorated though and newish. Sounds lovely there from what I've seen. Following all the advice here for the next/first time we go!

I don't know if Art of Animation is one of the value resorts, but the one we stayed at, which was value, was supposed to be the only one with a dedicated bus line. The Pop Century Resort. The busses are supposed to go directly from the resort, to whatever park is the destination, without stopping at other resorts first. You might want to check this out/consider it. The room was small, but we didn't spend time in it anyway. Didn't use the pool either, so can't comment about it. But it might be worth a call to see if the bus thing is still the case. I believe at the other value resorts, the busses stop at other resorts on their way to the parks.
Good luck. Anything you do will be fun! Will it just be the two of you?

Do you guys think that video was taped on a slow, moderate, or busy day at Disney?
I think I would prefer Cars or Lion King over Nemo or Mermaid just for the fewer crowds and those Cozy Cone cabanas.

I've only been to Magic Kingdom and Epcot but I would also recommend Splash Mountain at MK if you don't mind getting a little wet and Soarin' at Epcot. It was just the California version when we went but I'm sure it's still a great ride.
I seem to remember that at AoA, the only section that has standard rooms is the Little Mermaid section. All the other ones are just family suites. But double check that to be sure.

Hi guys! Being that I have had a WDW addiction since birth and only recently acquired the the UO bug, I have a few things to pop in here with. The FP+ system has its positives and negatives. I prefer to encourage the use of FPs at the 11am, 12pm, 1pm hours. In the morning while it isn't crowded you can hop on the rides fairly easily. At around 11:30 everything starts to get crazy. And waits get longer. Best attractions for use at MK: 7DMT, Space, PP, BTM, Splash Mountain. Buses start 45mins before parks opening time officially. They usually start running about 1 hour before. Buses are really hit or miss on timing. The biggest tip I have is to use your 3rd FP+ and then book another one for the next available time that you can get a good ride. I would walk through the second check point of my 3rd FP+ and book another one before I get on the ride. You can keep booking after each use after the 3rd is done. It will give you an advantage over everyone else the earlier you book it. We have stayed at a lot of hotels, but never at AoA. I hear it is nice. Epcot: Depends on what you are interested in doing. If you want to check out the countries and sample food that can take an evening. Illuminations is worth seeing, although in serious need of an update if you ask me. World of Colors in Cali is 100xs it's superior. FP+ require some maneuvering because of the dumb tiering. I agree with DHPLover do TT at rope drop and FP+ for Soarin and whatever else. Tier 2 attractions are kind of a waste. Mission Space is probably the best one. I am not sure about the new Anna and Elsa attraction at Norway. AK: Safari, Everest, Kali River ride, Dinosaur are the big ones. Now with the night show, I wonder how that might change touring. I think I might go somewhere else in the AM with your Park Hopper and then head there is the afternoon. DHS: The frozen fireworks were pretty awesome and we love Fantasmic. We always have to do Jedi training, so that screws up our rope drop, but I always get TSM for FP+ and then Star Tours and ToT. We wait for RnR, but they do have a single rider line too. You and Hannah can always do that if the lines are awful. Hope that helps.
