I'm excited about the new water coaster. Does anyone know if it will be a hydro-magnetic water coaster similar to the one in Denver and the one at Typhoon Lagoon? Will it be a whole new innovative ride?

The Krakatau aqua coaster will use magnetic technology, I believe the 'canoe' or 'raft' have a metal bottom, magnets thrust them up lift hills before dropping. Along with the water jets it should be a quick lift hill.
The construction is coming on now, I don't think it will be 100% finished for opening, hope I'm proven wrong. Just seems so much to do in so little time. Roll on September and testing it all out.

Saw those yesterday, it does look great. I'm not a water park person but I think that may be worth a go at least one time. I think the kiddo would love it.
It never ceases to amaze me how darn fast Universal works in getting things done and up and running and neat.
I'm also not a fan of water parks, I'd even go as far as I hated Wet N Wild. I found the park just plastic and tacky also as I don't really like water rides, it's just not a fun place for me personally.
This is where Volcano Bay comes in, as I'm actually looking forward to it (not as much as Pandora mind) but I'm looking forward to it. What I'm looking forward to most is the overall theming as it looks spectacular and bet it looks amazing at night. Also all the new revolutionary aspects - Tapu Tapu, Krakatau Aqua Coaster, the volcano as a whole and the night time aspects/show (shame the night time show won't be the same during HHN season with early close at 6/7PM). I'm also looking forward to the whole atmosphere and with the food & bars, sure will have a great time there. I'm not a fan of water park rides, especially ones where you go down without a tube or anything, as I actually find them painful. But I am really looking forward to Krakatau Aqua Coaster and I may try one or two other tube based rides. Plus of course the lazy river! But for me it's the whole experience/atmosphere and not the actual rides.
Almost forgot to add, Volcano Bay has put me in a bit of a "ticket headache", as due to the cost of the 3 park passes, I'm now thinking of not renewing my Annual Pass and just getting a "3 Park 14 day Explorer" ticket at £225/$275. As I don't feel I can make back the $150 price difference on renewal to a Preferred 3 park pass vs the 3 park explorer.
