Has anyone stayed in a King Suite at the Hotel? What was your view, or does anyone know what the view is likely to be? (we love our view from RPR and am hoping we dont end up with a crap view at SF)

We just stayed at Sapphire Falls. Here's my quick points to it. To be fair, I'll list the top Pros and Cons I experienced.
Pros:- So far we've stayed at the 3 Deluxe resorts and I've visited friends at Cabana (both working and staying). Focusing on Sapphire, they have the best onsite beds I've slept on. As someone who has back issues and isn't a sound sleeper, this is important to me. In comparison, Hard Rock has been the absolute worst.
- Great bang for your buck. The hotel is gorgeous (pictures do NOT do this hotel justice), nothing is a far distance from each other and the views are all great. Our check-in process was quick and courteous. They have an emphasis on communication via text, which was probably my favorite part about being there. Anything I needed was a quick text away (including checking out which I did FROM MY CAR UPON LEAVING) and they were very fast to respond. While I could write a 12 page report as to why, all I'll say is in the debate between Cabana and Sapphire- go Sapphire. I chose the lagoon view which I did not regret.
- Strong Water Tavern. Let's be honest. We're all adults here. We're going to get thirsty on vacation and we're going to want to be satisfied in a very adult way. Imho, this bar is not only the best bar within UO (with a great environment and view), but they also have some of the best drinks I've had the pleasure of ingesting. My favorite? Tavern Grogg. Consistently an excellent drink every time I've had it and while it is within the average theme park cocktail prices, it is also consistently the most rewarding $12 I'll ever spend on one.
Cons:
- The rooms are relatively small and I found the wiring.... weird. They aren't terrible by any means and I found them completely satisfactory for our stay; just remember, this is a value resort. Don't go in expecting much more than standard hotel space and a great bed to rest your head. Concerning the lights: Typically, in most hotels, there's the switch by the door that controls the light at the entrance; the switches within the "living area" and the switches for the bathroom area. With our room, the switch by the door controlled the entrance and the bathroom sink area; each light within the living area had its own personal switch on the device (which is both good and unfortunate) and the switch within the bathroom controlled the main light and the light within the shower stall (which shined down RIGHT on my face when I was washing my hair. Pro-Tip: Wash your hair facing down if you want to avoid that). None of this actually impeded on my stay, but like I said, I found all of this moreso just... weird.
- There is a single-serve Keurig in the room. However 1. Check it when you get in. This wasn't that bad for me, but knowing what I do, there was water in the catcher that was overlooked when cleaning. This could turn some guests off. 2. The actual critique- The creamers are ONLY half & half there. There is a cafe in the lobby area that has their own coffee with great options, but don't expect anything more within the rooms. I asked and was denied. Call me a snob, but I hate half and half/regular milk in my coffee and prefer a little flavor, a little something-something in my coffee in the morning. Objectively, there should be more offered, but again. Value is value and there is the cafe downstairs that holds prices on par with any general shop anywhere.
- Pool-wise, this is the most boring pool onsite Each Deluxe has some great characteristics about theirs and Cabana at least has their lazy river and a pretty cool looking pool area. This one? Biggest pool, sure and it's nice enough with the standard waterslide, plenty of entrances into the pool including an infinity entrance in the middle that sorta doubles as a "sandbar" without the sand, but that's it! I would say not to let this influence your decision, just don't expect the elaborate themes like the others.
- Probably my biggest critique. The Garden Walk. I'll just say this about that: Just take the damned boat. Getting to the boat is a little roundabout for my liking, but it's not terrible and the Garden Walk from Sapphire isn't worth it. We tried taking it one night since we figured it'd be nice. We followed the signs and ended up right at the road (Royal is right next door so the Garden Walk is probably actually from there since technically Sapphire is an extension of Royal). If you don't mind using Royal, this isn't that big of a deal, but I wouldn't call it anything more than a "walkway" (think Cabana but not quite so elaborate).
Overall, the pros far outshine the cons with Sapphire and honestly, I'd absolutely stay here again. I'd post pictures from our stay but my phone is on the fritz. The amazing thing to that is we're all online and there's been plenty of guests there to give you an idea about it. Pictures won't do the stay justice for you, so I'll simply emphasize my stance to choose this hotel instead of Cabana if you have the option.

Funny - to me Hard Rock has by far the most comfortable beds and pillows! For each his own - I guess!

I know sometimes it's also a matter of the moment where maybe they hadn't switched out mattresses. I don't think I mentioned it, but to Hard Rock's credit they did do the most concerning birthdays. I was greeted with a slice of cake upon entering my room and a voucher for my choice of a free dessert or drink from the bar. They did the same for one of my friends recently as well. Another pro to Hard Rock is that they do have one of my favorite pool features- they play music under the water

Nice piece of bday cake and a drink voucher. And, they were very generous with the drink with the bday coupon. Hard Rock IMO has the best pool. So much fun - the music, the activities, the service - everything. I think we've hijacked the Sapphire Falls thread with HR - oops!

Well, I guess if the boats close, I will have to wait them out in air con, enjoying some beverages. Maybe duck into that "not scary at all" Horror Make-up Show:-)
