Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Not too much info online about the event but for $35 I couldn't pass up something I haven't done yet!

I went one year to Howl-O-Scream. I think my reaction to it was at least partially tainted since HHN was my first and main Halloween event and Universal throws in heaps of money towards the quality of it. The year I went there were chainsaw cheerleads and Gwazi was still around but my take was that it didn't hold a candle to HHN. I went through 3 houses and it felt like I was just doing a walk-through of a makeshift funhouse ran by Party City. I got in free though, so I went and talked to one of the Guest Service reps about what Howl-O-Scream's goal was. Their literal answer to me was "Universal goes for scares, we go for startles."
I do know plenty of people who enjoy their event more, if for no other reason than to walk around BG at night. Riding Gwazi at night was a pretty great thrill.
Some cool thangs I noted about them that I have yet to see UO do are the bungee scare-actors. They also had way better camouflage scares then I've seen UO pull off and one clown zombie with his little, oozy, bloody brain that was the best to follow around.
If anyone gets a chance to do that add-on house or has done it before, please tell me something about it. I think it was called "Alone"? If you don't know anything for it, they only let 1 or 2 people in at a time armed with just a flashlight and it's like a horror-puzzle house. You're even video'd outside so your friends and everyone can see you walk through it, depending on the night.

4 of 7 houses announced so far... Houses;
The Black Spot: An infamous pirate has you marked for death and he has you right where he wants you.
Motel Hell: In a deserted home, the Sandman waits to make your worst nightmares a reality.
Circus of Superstition, The last laugh: take more than luck to survive.
Unearthed: A centuries-old house has been Unearthed, unleashing a vengeful demon seeking revenge.
Fiends show, and roaming hordes also announced.

Howl-O-Scream was a howl! Completely different experience to HHN. I highly recommend if you get chance to go, GO!
Scare zones were fun, houses were excellent. You are not pushed through in a conga line, so can experience at any pace.
I did like Death Water Bayou, zombie mortuary and Motel Hell best.
I purchased front of the line pass before hand as only had one night, but it was a waste of money sadly. The longest wait was 5mins. We did each house at least twice, once front of line. straight back out and in the normal line.
Would certainly make the trip over again.

Would you say tame enough to take kids to or still too much?

Would you say tame enough to take kids to or still too much? How old?
Personally probably not, it is aimed at adults. Content maybe bit extreme for younger children.

Right. 8 and 11 by next year...didn't know if it was a lot tamer than HHN or just a little. I don't think I'd take them to that yet.

We will be checking out both iterations next month so I will report back! AMY IN THE HOUSE!!!! Yay:-) So, wait, Howl-o-Scream is in both locations? I thought it just moved to SeaWorld. Of course, I don't follow the scary stuff that closely, so........no surprise there. But what I have seen of Howl-o-Scream in the past has always looked like a quality event.
